Can I install my Candock dock myself?

Yes, in the case of a standard installation, the product is very simple to assemble and install. At the time of purchase, our retailer or distributor will provide you with the necessary information to install the dock yourself. They can also offer you their installation services. If you experience problems with the installation, we invite you to contact us directly via e-mail or through our toll-free number.

Can my dock touch the bottom of the water plan?

Candock's docks are extremely resistant and can support a heavy load, even on ground. So there is no problem if your dock touches the bottom of the water plan. However, make sure there are no sharp objects where your dock touches the ground.

Why buy a Candock instead of another similar product?

Candock will be the last dock you ever buy. It is virtually maintenance-free, eco-friendly, lightweight, economical, durable, and easy to assemble. Moreover, it can be modified year after year if you wish, or even given a completely new function.

Is it possible to leave our Candock in the water during the winter months?

It is possible, however only if there is no ice movement during the winter. If ice conditions and weather permits it, leaving your Candock in the water will not only save you time, it will also save on fees associated with the removal and re-installation of the dock.
If there is ice movement during the winter, it is highly recommended that your dock be stored during the winter.

What kind of weather conditions can the Candock withstand?

As with all other types of floating docks, a protected area where waves are inferior to 2" or 0.6m is recommended. We have however frequently witnessed our system withstand extreme weather and tidal conditions. Our modular system is of small size, allowing it to move easily with the waves, instead of resisting them.

Does the sun affect the product?

Candock's products are UV-resistant and the sun will not affect its properties in any way. Plus, its light color will assure you a comfortable surface to walk on barefoot unlike the black color ones often used by other manufacturers.

Could the engine stand damage the Jetslide?
-
No, not if the Jetslide system is properly used. The Jetslide has a V-shaped entrance point, specially designed to block the engine stand in addition to a security plate to protect the Jetslide against the lower part of the stand.

How to use the JetSlide
-
- Approach the JetSlide at idling speed, keeping the craft straight and centered with the JetSlide. When the bow of the craft comes into contact with the JetSlide, give small throttle strokes that will align the craft with the JetSlide. When the craft is in line with the JetSlide, throttle in slowly. After a few tries, you will rapidly develop a feel for how much you have to use the throttle to reach final position on the JetSlide.
- For a boat, the engine must be fully reduced during the entering procedures to prevent damage to the Jetslide. Increase throttle power until the boat is fully up onto the system. When the engine comes into contact with the Jetslide, you will feel the craft stopping. You must immediately throttle down. This indicates that the craft is at its final resting position. Entering the unit at high speed may damage it. We recommend, at first, that you try at slow speeds until you reach the proper one. If the boat gets on the system but is not all the way in, you can continue throttling progressively until the boat reaches its final resting position.
- It is recommended to secure the craft to a cleat in order to prevent it from sliding back into the water accidently. The craft can be locked to the JetSlide with a chain when you are not using it. (Ask your dealer for more details.)
- To get back into the water, take a standing position on your PWC and generate a backwards movement by using your lower back and arms, pumping backwards rapidly until the PWC starts sliding back into the water. It works better when the JetSlide is wet.
- The easiest way back into the water is to hold the bow of the PWC with one hand and the handle bar with the other and then push it back slowly. Be careful, at a certain point, the PWC will start moving backwards by itself. At that moment, get on the PWC so it stops sliding away without a driver!
- For a boat, put the engine in reverse and increase throttle until craft starts to go down by itself. It helps if you wet the system especially if the boat was not used for a couple of days. For turbine boats, you can push it off (when possible) or use our winch system. Note that some boats will not be able to go back into the water on their own power, you might have to use the winch system.
- A winch system is also available to help get in and out of the water (see M). If you are using the winch system for a boat, extra rows of cubes may be required in front of the unit so the bow of the boat doesn't come into contact with the winch assembly. (Ask your dealer for more details.)
